Weekly Workouts May 18-May 24-Plus a review and giveaway!

It was a very busy week! I loved it. I am having some issues with my Loop synching up with my H7, so my calorie burn is way off. I *think* steps are tracked correctly, though. It's a battery issue, and I have issues with changing out the batteries. I can never get the back off. My Polar Peeps say a 2 Euro coin works perfect, so I'm on the hunt to track one down! Don't forget this is the last week to join the #20X31 challenge hosted by my friend Jen over at JVKom Chronicles!

Sunday-Blueberry picking!! It's a family tradition! This year we picked 10 pounds, and they lasted just a hair over 24 hours.

Monday-CrossFit. Nice workout!! But I can't remember what we did other than back squats! But I burned a lot of calories!

Tuesday-CrossFit. We did a WOD called "Blackjack" 21 rounds each consisting of 21 reps with a combo of pushups and situps. It was a lot tougher than I thought it was going to be!

I came home from working out and took Matthew for a nice 2 mile walk. I also thought it would be a good idea to clean and scrub out my shower, but after 210 pushups, my arms started SCREAMING at me. But I finished!

I also wore my Fit Knix boy short athletic panties today. I L.O.V.E. them. They sent me a traditional pair to review a few months ago and I loved those too! I do like the fit of the boy short better than the traditional underwear, but I'm sure that's just user preference.

Wednesday-CrossFit. Wednesday is typically our strength day, and today was no different. We worked on strict pullups and I'm happy to say that I was able to go down one band width! My arms were BURNING after the WOD, but I felt strong! I wasn't able to get in a post-wod walk because I promised Ella I would meet her at the library for a school field trip, and this mama always tries to keep her promises, so that's exactly what I did!

Thursday-Indoor cycling. Thursday is typically my rest day, but I decided I needed some cardio in my life, so I joined my friend Hope for her 9:30am cycle class and she totally kicked my butt. After the second track when my heartrate was at 98% and Hope said "okay friends, warmup is now down" I knew I was in big trouble. But I made it. And I felt STRONG! I know I had more gear on the bike than I have ever had in the past, so that's a positive thing! My heartrate did recover quickly, it just got really high! I LOVE to cycle, but it bums me out that my Loop doesn't track "steps" through cycling or rowing.

Friday-CrossFit and 5K. In the morning I did Murph!! I modified the 1 mile run into a 2000m row, so my workout consisted of:

100 pullups

200 pushups

300 squats

2000m row

I finished in 58:04 which is an improvement over last year when I scaled the run. I think I did maybe 600m or 800m for the run.

Later that evening the Tampa Trio and I joined CrossFit En Fuego for a 5K fun run! Ronin was so mad at me because I wanted him to hang out and walk with me and the girls, but he wanted to run. Thankfully some of my friends offered to run with Ronin. I knew he was in good hands, so the girls and I enjoyed our racewalk, and Ronin enjoyed his run.

Saturday- Color Me Rad 5K The kids and I headed out for a colorful fun run!

Weekly Workouts April 27-May 3

This week was a pretty great week in workouts!! For the most part my schedule has returned to normal. Whatever normal is. Tongue Out I'm also participating in the May Fitness Challenge hosted by my friend Jen K over at JVKom Chronicles. You can follow along using the hashtag #20X31

Sunday-Rest Day! I have NO IDEA what we did. I'm sure we did something, though. I just don't know what it was! Surprised

Monday-CrossFit. Week 2 Day 3 of our 12 week squat program. We did back squats at 83% of our one rep max. Then a nice quick WOD consisting of 3 4 minute workouts. In the first four minutes, I sprinted 2 minutes on the air dyne and then spent the remaining 2 minutes doing situps, and we repeated this 3 times, but the second movement changed for each round. So first was max rep situps, second was max rep burpees, and third was max rep single jumps.

Afterwards, I'm sure I walked a mile with my workout girls. I just honestly can't remember!

Tuesday-CrossFit No idea what we did. None. Gosh, I hate that!! But I'm sure it was fun, I'm sure I sweated a ton, and I probably walked afterwards!

Thursday-Rest Day! Spent the day volunteering at my kids school. It was a nice day, but it totally reminded me why I got out of the school system.

Friday-CrossFit Today was make-up day. I did week 2 day 4 of our squat program which was front squats. And after those squats it was Coach Jen's BIRTHDAY WOD MAKE-UP!!

We had to pick the same weight for the power snatches as the power cleans. Therefore, I went with a light 35# because I'm still hammering out technique on the snatch. I flew through the power cleans since I normally do 65 pounds. I finished the WOD in 11:01. It was POURING rain, so no post-WOD walk, but I did do a quick 500m row.

Saturday-Rest Day!!  Just hung around the house, washed the dog and gave him a haircut, did some chores. Nothing exciting. It was pouring rain!

Overall it was a good week. I'm planning on working on increasing my step count this week. It was lower this week because of two rainy days.

I've also really been hammering at my diet. Eating much cleaner, and avoiding TV snacking.

My Week April 20-26

I hope you all had an enjoyable Easter Sunday and a fab week!!

My week was really really nice!!

Sunday-Rest Day. It was Easter Sunday, so I had planned on taking it nice and easy with my kids. Truth....my kids woke up earlier than normal, got into their candy, made a mess, were very loud, and I lost it. We all have *those* parenting moments we'd like to take back, and boy do I wish I could take this one back, but I can't. My bad mood caused my son to have a VERY bad mood. But we turned it around!  We grabbed the dog and headed out for a walk!! A nice long walk. Just me, Ronin, and the dog. After 2 miles or so we ended up at the park. Ronin loves jumping on things, so he spent quite a bit of time practicing his "box jumps" at the park.

So after we turned around our morning, we headed home where we just chill-axed the rest of the day!

Monday- I woke up fully prepared to head off to CrossFit, but when I woke up, my trusty Polar FT60 told me this...

A RECOVERY WEEK??? What in the world?? But I decided to listen to my trainer, and take a recovery week.

Did take a bike ride after dropping kids off at school.

It was a very nice way to flush out the legs.  I know some people might not think of this as a recovery, but it was for me. I loved it.

Tuesday- Normally I'd head to CrossFit, but instead after I dropped the trio off at school I went and got some sod! I laid down 75 pieces of sod around my backyard. That was quite the little workout! I was dripping sweat and got a nice tan in the process :)

Wednesday- Again, normally a CrossFit day. I instead volunteered to chaperone my son on a school field trip, but I didn't have to be at the school until 9:30am, and I drop them off at 8:30am, so I went to CrossFit. But I didn't workout. I did a nice recovery row!

Just a hair over 4000m and then I was off to be a chaperone.

I have issues with riding on a school bus. I just won't do it. So I followed the bus, and the school allowed Ronin to ride with me. Ronin has issues with LOUDNESS, and the bus bothers him on field trips, too. It was an interesting ride. I knew where I was going, but the bus didn't.

We ended up on some dirt road to nowhere. Well, not to nowhere. It led us to a stinky dairy farm.

Ronin and I were just cracking up. We were laughing so hard we both had tears in our eyes.

When the bus pulled out of the dairy farm and got to the "main road" he took a wrong turn AGAIN! Since I knew where we were going, I just drove Ronin and I there. And we watched as the bus drove right past the gate to Crystal Springs. Again, we were laughing. It was a very nice day.

Thursday- This is normally my rest day, so I didn't feel "guilty" about taking the day off. It was also National Take Your Child to Work Day! Kids are supposed to be 8 and older, so I took my oldest 2 daughter's on a trip to the zoo!! I was asked by Lowry Park Zoo to help promote "Sea Lions Splash", a traveling exhibit that will at LPZ until the end of May. I brought my girls along so that they could see a day in the life of a lifestyle blogger.

They got to touch, pet, interact with Sea Lions, which they totally loved.

But they both really loved Gator Falls, the log flume ride! It was their first time on it, and they were able to ride it 3 times in a row and didn't even have to get out of the log! They got SOAKED!! They said it was the "wettest log flume we've ever been on!!"

Such a fun day! They'll both be blogging about it, so look for a post from them in the next week.

We picked the boy up from school, I had his bathing suit with me, and the 4 of us headed to the pool where we spent 2 hours!

Friday-CROSSFIT This marked ONE WEEK since I had last worked out, so I returned to CrossFit.

It was nice to be back!! I did a 2000m row, day 1 of a 12 week squat program, another 2000m row, and then followed it up with a 2 mile walk. It was AWESOME! And I felt so good. Any aches/pains that I had, had diminished over the course of the rest week, so I felt ready to hit it hard!

And then I came home to this....

We had an aggressive alligator on our lake. The trappers couldn't get him on Friday, so they left a baited hook up all night.

Saturday- WALK NOW FOR AUTISM SPEAKS!! This is an event that Ronin and I had been looking forward to for a few months!

But before we could do the walk....

 

The gator took the bait!! He measured 6 feet 3 inches!! Let's hope we got the right one!!

Then we were off for the walk!

We had raised enough money to be in the Grand Club and Tent Village.

Ronin and Logan don't see each other often, but when they do it's just like old friends reconnecting!

They just walked and talked and had a grand time!

We even had the pleasure of running into a CrossFit En Fuego friend who was walking for Airdric.

After the walk we came home and I mowed the lawn.
