Reebok CrossFit Nano 4.0 Review

11. August 2014 11:11 by jennifer | 2 Comments

I love all things Reebok CrossFit, so I was super excited to have the opportunity to review the newest edition of the Nano shoe: The Nano 4.0.

One of the most fun things about being a blogger is never knowing what color/style the company will send you. It's a bit like Christmas!

I was sent the Flux Orange/Rebel Berry/White/Black. I would not have chosen this color for myself, so it really forced me to step-outside my clothing comfort zone!

I was wearing the Nano 3.0's and what I immediately noticed in the 4.0's was the difference in shoe weight. The 4.0's are lighter. Reebok re-engineered the duracage and changed the mesh, which made the shoe lighter.

I also noticed that my feet didn't seem to sweat as much. Makes sense since they also changed the mesh under the cage to allow for better flow during workouts.

One thing about me is that I will wear my Nano's out for all sorts of workouts.

I wore them for a workout at CrossFit En Fuego.

The shoes were light, and breathe-able, but I noticed that the tongue on the left foot kept slipping, so I tried them on a bike ride.

As you can see in the above photo, the tongue is slipping out of place. That allowed for some rubbing on the top and side of my left foot. It was bothersome.

Reebok had said that the 4.0 had an internal FITFRAME that allowed for a no slip, no move tongue. I guess my left shoe didn't get that memo.

I also wore the shoes on a walk with Matthew, the #BigYellowDog. As you can see, the tongue on my RIGHT shoe stayed firmly in place.

I wore the shoes again today to a CrossFit WOD. Our WOD consisted of back squats, front squats, and slam balls. I finished, took a photo, and when looking at the photo realized that again, the left tongue did not stay in place and the top and side of my foot was irritated.

In my opinion, the Nano 4.0 shoes fit me more like the Nano 2.0 than the Nano 3.0, and I prefer the 3.0. Now, if they could just take the lightweightness and the open, breathable spacer mesh of the 4.0 and add it to the 3.0, I'd have the perfect CrossFit shoe!!

But both current CrossFit Games Champs Rich Froning and Camille Leblanc-Bazinet LOVE the 4.0's!!

Have you tried the Nano 4.0? Do you like them??

Reebok Skyscape Review-My Pinkalicious Review

6. April 2014 09:03 by jennifer | 4 Comments

The following post is sponsored by Fit Fluential, LLC on behalf of Reebok.   A few weeks ago my son, in an autism tantrum, broke my favorite pair of casual shoes. I was bummed, but low and behold...the shoe gods were looking out for me, because shortly thereafter, these lovely shoes came in the mail for me! I loved the personal touch of including my name on the tag. It made me feel so special. I was crossing my fingers and hoping that the shoes were pink. Pink is my favorite color. And.... YES!! I was excited to try them on! As soon as I picked them up, I noticed right away how light weight the shoes were. They were also really really "smooth." That probably sounds weird, but the shoes were just silky feeling. I jumped on the Reebok Skyscape site and learned that the Skyscapes are made of a light weight FOAM material in the upper that gives it such softness and flexibility. And lightweight....only 5 ounces. I couldn't wait to put them on! It was a beautiful Florida afternoon, so I slipped them on, and took the #bigyellowdog, Matthew for a walk! I loved the way that they felt. They were so comfortable and I immediately fell in love with them. I even wore them to CrossFit! I kicked back and watched my friends tackle the last WOD of the CrossFit Games, the horrible 14.5!! And then I had a parent/teacher conference, and since my normal casual wear shoes had been trashed by the boy, I decided to grab my Skyscape and paired them with a cute polka dot dress from Gwynnie Bee! I wore these shoes all over town! They started to get a tad dirty, so I thew them in the washing machine! That's right! These shoes are machine washable! Just remove the insole, wash the both on cold, delicate cycle with your normal soap, and then let air dry! Mine came out looking as good as new! Awesome! They were so light and comfortable that I honestly forgot quite a few times that I even had them on! You can check out more ideas on how to wear Skyscapes HERE at the Skyscape Styling site! I found these shoes to absolutely run TRUE TO SIZE and I've worn them both with and without socks. I love these shoes and plan on buying myself another pair in a different color. As much as I love pink, I can't wear it with everything....or can I?? #Pinkalicious

Running Shoe Review: @Reebook #zquick #ReebokZQuick #livewithfire #fitfluential #unnaturallyquick

24. February 2014 10:55 by jennifer | 2 Comments

The following post is sponsored by FitFluential LLC on behalf of Reebok.     Are you a runner? Do you want to run faster? ZQuick. The shoe that makes you unnaturally fast. Sounds great, doesn't it? I know I was intrigued and super excited to give them a go! They arrived to me packed up in a nice reusable tote bag! I loved that I had no big bulky shoe box to contend with! I received the Punch Pink color which is just perfect for me because pink is my favorite color!! The first day I wore them to CrossFit because we had a running WOD. And I did move #unnaturallyquick though that workout. But I started to notice that the shoes were hurting the back of my heels. This is not unusual for me, but I was hoping it was just a matter of breaking in the shoes a bit more. The next day I wore them on a run with the dog. And by the end of the jog my heels looked like this I contacted Reebok to let them know that I was having issues with the shoes. They thought it might be my socks, so they sent me out a few lovely pairs to try. I really did like the socks. They also advised that I wait a week, let my heels heal and then give them another try. I did that, and it didn't work. My heels just don't like the #zquick. This makes me sad because I love Reebok and I loved the way the Zquick shoes felt when I had them on. It was moving that didn't work. So if I just needed them for standing they'd be great! Back when I was younger and Keds were all the rage, my heels would get ripped up, so this isn't something new for me. I think I just have super sensitive heels and depending on where the back of the shoe hits my heel makes all the difference in the world. The toe box was super comfortable and I love the color, but I won't be able to wear them. Sad sad sad. But I was still curious HOW ZQuick could make me a faster runner and this is what they said:"For handling we also wanted to take into account the dynamics of the foot itself. Your foot changes in dimension when you put weight on.  When your foot is completely weighted, it’ s about 5mm wider than when it’s in the air.  That’s your own naturally handling feature. Your foot spreads out on impact to distribute force over a broader base. To accommodate for that natural handling feature we built slashes into the bottom unit that go all the way to the lasting board so that your Z-series shoe spreads with you."   So while this shoe doesn't work for me, maybe it will work for you. Reebok does offer FREE shipping and FREE returns, so if end up not working out for you, you can return them!   What's your favorite type of running shoe?
