Birthday Bucket List

42. I am going to be 42. How did this happen?? It has all gone by so fast.

I know I'm not the only one who wonders how this happened so quickly.

Comparing 42, to 32, or heck even 22, I'll take 42 ANY DAY! I am in such a better place in my life. I'm in better health, my kids are older and becoming more independent. I'm married to the same man I was at 32 (though a different man than when I was 22...confession, yes I've been married before.)

Music Monday: Pour some sugar on me

Oh good grief! July has been a tough month for me food wise! Two birthdays in the same week, and I'll admit I HAD TOO MUCH CAKE!! In the past, I didn't eat cake at the kids birthday parties. I wasn't even tempted. But July has been hard for me. I don't know why, but it has been. I'm ready for the kids to go back to school so that MY normal routine can return!!

I had cake. Too much cake. I feel awful. Bloated and gross. It wasn't worth it. Blah. And it's not just the sugar. It's the gluten. Time to kick the clean eating back in to high gear!!

For today's Music Monday I am spinning "Pour Some Sugar on Me" by Def Leppard. Not that I need sugar poured on me because I can feel it leaching out of my skin. But I ate the cake out of love for my Irish Twins. Ya, that's the excuse I'll use.

So now I am in detox mode. Big time.

Do you like cake? What type is your favorite??

Happy 7th Birthday, Ronin

You turned 7 yesterday. 7. My baby is 7. HOW DID THIS HAPPEN??

You were born at home after a 38 minute labor. You were the most beautiful baby I had ever seen. Here you are just minutes old, so alert just staring up at me. Kiss I loved you the minute I saw you.

You were born with a full head of beautiful white hair. Here you are less than 24 hours old.

By 10 months old, you were very opinionated.

But for every tantrum you had, you were equally as happy and fun to be around!

I am happy that you have gotten a little bit neater as you've gotten older.

And you continue to be able to sleep anywhere, at any time.

You've always been a thrill seeker.

Though now you've gone from being thrown in the air by your daddy to driving in NASCAR's at speeds over 100mph!

This year we also saw you get glasses AND a dog!

And you turned in to quite the ladies man! The dancing ladies at Busch Gardens couldn't get enough of your cuteness!

And once in a while you get along with Ella.

Ronin you have taken our family on a wild and crazy adventure. Every day continues to be a surprise with you and you sure do keep me on my toes,  I love you so much.

Autism wasn't what I was expecting when I learned you'd be joining our family. You have taught me to be a more patient, understanding person. But you are so much MORE than just a boy who has autism. You are a boy that loves to run, bike, swim, garden. You are a boy that loves to help me take out the trash and walk the dog. You are a boy who is curious about the world around him. You love nature, frogs, dinosaurs. For your birthday you asked to go to the Museum of Science and Industry where you went on the zip-line and climbed through the rope course.

I am so proud of the young man you are becoming and I can't wait to see how you change, yet stay the same during this year!

I love you, Ronin.
