The Illusionists at the Straz Center Tampa May 26-31

On Wednesday May 27th, the #TampaTrio and I were invited to the Straz Center to experience The Illusionists. This mind-blowing spectacular showcases the jaw-dropping talents of seven of the most incredible Illusionists on earth. The Illusionists - Witness the Impossible™ has shattered box office records across the globe and dazzles audiences of all ages with a powerful mix of the most outrageous and astonishing acts ever to be seen on stage. This non-stop show is packed with thrilling and sophisticated magic of unprecedented proportions.

The Wednesday performance was Broadway Family Night and  we arrived early for fun activities and then we had every intention to stay after for a talk-back with company members, but a late show start, and some technical difficulties after intermission prevented us from staying late.

You can see with your own eyes how AMAZING this show was.

Ronin LOVES magic and illusions. I mean LOVES it. Look at how intently he is staring at the illusionist from the Downtown Tampa Carnival in early May. He really tries so hard to figure out the tricks.

Each of the kids had their own idea of who they liked the best simply based on this sign. Ella liked The Trickster, Haley like the The Warrior and Ronin liked The Futurist

I don't want to give too much away, but post show Ella had a new favorite....The Anti-Conjuror.

The #TampaTrio loved sitting up in the Starz Tweet Seats, which is where we moved post-intermission. Ronin needed a bit more space for dancing and after drinking a lot of Shirley Temples at dinner, bathroom breaks were frequent and I didn't want to keep walking in front of other theater guests.

Overall, we had a great time! There were a lot of surprises, and some super funny one-liners. And while those one-liners are not really appropriate for the younger crowd, they will go right over their heads, so no worries.

The show did a GREAT job in interacting with the crowd, though my gang was disappointed that they weren't chosen to get on stage, but we sat in the back, and they only picked from the first 2-3 rows. Oh well. Better luck next time! you like magic/illusion shows? Have you ever seen one live??

Disclaimer: As part of my association with the Tampa Bay Bloggers, my family was provided with tickets to experience The Illusionists. I had planned to only take Ronin but the girls demanded that they be taken as well. I don't regret that decision at all.

Summer Road Trips: Audio Books for Kids

I do not have a DVD player in my car, and I can honestly say that I NEVER WILL.

My kids enjoy reading, and they L.O.V.E. audio books when we spend any sort of significant time in the car.

We've listened to so many audio books in the car. The ones that really stick out are Harry Potter (difficult with the strong English accents), Magic Tree House, and to date, their favorite audio book was Tuck Everlasting.

We'll be traveling this summer, spending a few days of 10+ hours in the car, and I've got our list of audio books ready to be downloaded on Overdrive!

So what will we be listening to this summer?

The Wolves in the Walls by Neil Gaiman. He's fantastic and can't wait to listen to this story!

Dragoneye Reborn by Alison Goodman. This story sounds fantastic (a bit Mulan-like) and I know my trio will LOVE it!

I am also a HUGE fan of John Grisham and have never had the opportunity to read his Theodore Boone, Kid Lawyer series, so I have this series all ready to go in my queue. Not sure what the kids will think of it, but if they don't like it, no harm, no foul. Just delete it and move on.

Another of my favorite adult authors that has crossed over to YA is James Patterson. I can not wait to listen to his Maximum Ride series!! Just listen to this synopsis!  "Six unforgettable kids — with no families, no homes — are running for their lives. Max Ride and her best friends have the ability to fly. And that's just the beginning of their amazing powers. But they don't know where they come from, who's hunting them, why they are different from all other humans... and if they're meant to save mankind — or destroy it."

That's the series we're going to start with and I'm pretty confident that I'll be #WINNING after that story!! 9 books in that one series! That could keep us busy the entire summer!!

So, what about you?? What's on your audio books for kids list??

Polar A300 Fitness and Activity Monitor Review and Giveaway

Polar, the World's leading heart rate and fitness tracking company has just released their newest activity tracker: The A300

It is a beautiful fitness tracker that takes all the best features of the Polar Loop, and the Polar FT60 and combines them into this sleek, attractive wrist computer.

Not only can you change your band (multiple colors), but you can log your daily activity, have your device alert you if you are inactive too long, measure your heart rate, track your sleep, count your steps and measure your progress.

The A300 is also waterproof so you can continue to wear it during all your upcoming water based activities this summer!

The A300 shows your steps, distance, and burned calories, and motivates to reach your activity goal. If you stay still for too long, the A300 will vibrate telling you it’s time to move again.

It also syncs to MyFitnessPal (ios only at this time, but android is coming soon!!)

Are you curious about how you use the A300 for all your activity tracking?

This handy video explains it all!

I was sent an A300 to try out and I loved it. But I'll be honest, I'm a big GPS user, so the M400 is just a better fit for me. I do wish that the M400 could change out the colors like the A300 can. That is super cool.

The A300 is very similar to the M400, just minus the GPS. So if you are more of a treadmill runner, a crossfitter, a group fitness class taker, etc., than this is the product for you!

And because I love Polar, and I am #PolarProud, Polar wants me to give one of YOU your very own Polar A300.

Just follow the rafflecopter link below for your chance to win! And remember that you are #MADETOMOVE
