Stonyfield Greek-You Gotta Try This

The following post is sponsored by FitFluential LLC on behalf of Stonyfield Farms.

Our family has been eating Stonyfield Greek plain yogurt since 2008. Weird that I remember the year, huh? Not really. That's the year our family began our healthy lifestyle and Stonyfield Greek yogurt replaced sour cream in our house. In fact, my recipe for my Turkey Bean Chili was featured on the Today Show and they even put a dollop of Stonyfield Greek on top because that's exactly what my recipe called for! Wink

We love Stonyfield in our house. Ella wakes up and that's the first thing she wants.

Now let me be honest here. I have tried "other" Greek FLAVORED yogurts and have not been a fan. They just tasted "too Greek."  The #TampaTrio turned their noses up at the "other" Greek yogurts and before I knew it, it had expired and I had to throw it away. Lesson learned.

Then this happened.

Oh, super exciting!! I wonder what could be inside!!

Stonyfield Greek yogurt now features an even creamier texture and perfected flavors. I immediately opened the Cafe Latte and oh my word. It was SO GOOD! It was so smooth, so creamy and at only 3 Point Plus through Weight Watchers I knew it would quickly become my favorite breakfast.

I am VERY aware of the foods that I put in my children's body and I love that Stonyfield makes their products without using pesticides, GMO’s, hormones or antibiotics. They use green business practices. For example, they use trains to transport their products, which is 11 times more fuel efficient than trucks. I for one, love supporting companies that care about their customers and the earth. I myself am always telling my friends "I can't do that, it will make my carbon footprint too big."

All that Greek yogurt arrived at my house on a Friday afternoon. My kids got home from school at 3:30pm. When my kids get home from school they are starving! I mean it's like they haven't eaten in weeks they are so hungry!

I care about what goes into my children’s body. With 12 grams of protein and zero fat, it is the perfect snack to fill their belly’s, and yet they still have room to eat a full dinner a few hours later. But I wasn't sure if they were going to like it based on our past experiences with OTHER brands.

Um.....this is where I was on Monday morning.

Yup, I was at Publix stocking up. Over the course of the weekend the Tampa Trio ATE IT ALL!! Yeast does not stand a chance in my house! Haley's favorite was the Super Fruits, and Ella and Ronin loved the Blueberry. So YES WE LOVED THE STONYFIELD GREEK YOGURT!!

Take it from me, YOU GOTTA TRY THIS!!

If you love Social Media for tips, links and contests like I do, then you should definitely follow Stonyfield on Facebook or Twitter because this fun company wants YOU to share your suggestions for “gotta try this” using hashtag #StonyFieldGreek. Some lucky fans will have the opportunity to win cups or even cases of the two new flavors.

Knuckle Lights Review and Giveaway

I learned about Knuckle Lights from an early morning runner friend. She had received them as a Christmas gift and she was raving about how great they light up the trail on her 5am runs.

Surely, I thought, they must also be great for nightly dog walks! Matthew and I go for our nightly walks when it's really dark outside. Our subdivision is not light up very well and there are a lot of pot holes, so I'm always worried about stepping in a hole and twisting my ankle. Often I wear a headlamp, but it isn't that comfortable and I have to mess with the light a lot to get it pointed right where I need it.

Ronin and I went for a walk and I used ONE of the Knuckle Lights. It light up my path wonderfully!! Sorry for the blurriness of the photo, but I couldn't get the son or the dog to stop walking. There is no flash in that photo. It's all Knuckle Light.

Knuckle Lights™ is the first and only light designed to be worn on your hands, in the perfect position to light your path and be seen on your next run or walk in the dark. Knuckle Lights move with the natural motion of your arms while running or walking!

And they are VERY comfortable. Knuckle Lights come in 3 settings: high, low, and blinking! Other features include:

I have been wearing them every night on our walk and I have felt so much safer. Not only can I see where I'm going, but cars can easily see me!! And Matthew loves them, too!

Please be patient with my Captcha. It's challenging, I know. I'm working on it.

How to cut raw squash easily

I love the squashes: spaghetti, acorn, butternut, and others.

But I don't love how difficult it can be to cut them in 1/2 and that's a HUGE reason why I don't eat them more often.

I was reading something in one of my Facebook cooking groups and I thought I saw something that said to MICROWAVE the squash to soften it up, making it easier to cut.

I received a lot of squash in this week's produce co-op, so I decided I'd try to microwave technique!

To make the squash easier to cut, pierce the skin in a few spots, place it in a microwave oven and heat on high for 2 minutes. Let stand for another few minutes before carving.

My knife slid through the squash so easily!! It was wonderful!

I also tried it with the spaghetti squash, and it worked too, though I had to microwave it a little bit longer!

Do you have any tricks to cutting squash??
