Jagger the T-Rex Switch & Go Dino

The kids (mainly Ronin and Haley) were thrilled to review some of VTech's Switch & Go Dinos. Opening the box was like Christmas...these are some seriously cool toys. We received one huge Dino, Jagger the T-Rex, as well as 3 smaller Dinos: Akuna the Velociraptor, Quiver the Stygimoloch, and Torr the Therizinosaurus. The VTech product, information, and additional gift pack have been provided by VTech.   All opinions are my own.

The box arrived right when I had come home from the gym and I needed a shower badly! I opened the large packing box, saw what was inside, and went to the shower. I was surprised when I got out of the shower that the kids had taken out all the packing materials and attempted to get Jagger working without me. Undecided Happy that they were excited, annoyed that they had created such a mess, and in the process managed to break one of Jagger's legs. Yell

I was in the shower for less than 10 minutes. Thankfully, an email to the company with my sincere apology that the toy would not be left unattended garnered us a return shipping label to send the broken one back, and they sent us out a new one!

Using the command list provided we attempted to get Jagger to follow our simple voice directions. You can see from the video that we weren't that successful. Jagger seemed to have a mind of its own. Backwards, forwards, frustrated kids. But overall they really did enjoy playing with it, and they continue to play with it. They prefer the big Jagger over the smaller Switch & Go Dinos. I think the smaller ones are an especially nice size for travel and they are a good price point for birthday party gifts (suggested MSRP on some is only $12.99).

Jagger is a BIG toy and takes up quite a bit of space in Ronin's room, but the kids enjoy playing with it and trying to see who will get Jagger to move using the commands! It's quite entertaining to watch. But what is most entertaining is watching my dog with Jagger. Matthew is freaked out by the talking, walking green toy and when the kids command Jagger to walk, Matthew runs and hides! Sweet puppy.

October 1st

I've decided that everyday through the month of October I am going to write something. Not a review, not an endorsement. Sure that is going to happen too, so these posts will be in addition to those posts. Tongue Out

It's hard to plan out an editorial calendar of what I want to write about because I get writer's block. Often.

But there are always two things I can blog about. Two things that I do every single day. And that is workout and play with my kids. So that's what I am going to blog about. My life with CrossFit and my kids.

Oh...and of course there is the #octogram Instagram challenge! I can blog about that too! Today's theme is FALL!!

And wouldn't luck have it. Today I am taking an active recovery day and going to get pampered at the Stay Sky Hotels & Resorts. I am having an hour of meditation, a tropical island massage, a customized facial, healthy lunch, and then another hour of meditation. I will probably skip that last hour so that I can head home for my kiddos. Tomorrow I can blog about my day of pampering!!

October also means it's Pink for October!! I'll be participating in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure THIS Saturday with my kids. My mother is a breast cancer survivor, having fought and beat stage 4 locally advanced IBD. We honestly didn't know if she'd make it. She was so sick. But she's a fighter! She beat it! And this Saturday my kids and I will walk in her honor and for all those women who fought and won, and those women that fought and lost the battle.

If you had to write something every single day, what would you pick to write about?
